In late August singer and artist Ellie Goulding was spotted in our own downtown Las Vegas! Shooting for her new music video for the song “On My Mind,” Ms. Goulding shot several scenes in the El Cortez hotel and casino and even rode a horse down Fremont Street! Director Emil Nava (who has worked with Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Lopez and Calvin Harris) brought a unique story and vision to the video. Chuck Akin, head of development for Oogoog productions said, “It takes a world-class production team and a film-friendly community like Downtown Las Vegas to accomplish the extraordinary creative choices of director Nava.” Projects like this bring recognition to the classic beauty of downtown’s neon lights and special culture.
“As word of successful production projects such as this spreads, it can only mean good things for the local film community and Las Vegas as a whole,” said Alexandra Epstein Gudai, executive vice president of the El Cortez Hotel & Casino. Many other artists have filmed music videos in Las Vegas, such as Sam Smith, Imagine Dragons, Panic! At the Disco and The Killers, respectively. If you and your friends are music fans, you can recreate the steps taken by so many famous people by heading downtown for a pub crawl. Needing an idea for a great bachelorette party?
