Distillery Coming to Downtown Las Vegas

Walking down Fremont Street, you will quickly notice all of the bars and restaurants that line the street. No matter what you are in the mood for as far as drink choices or the type of crowds you like to hang out with, there is a place for you. Many of the bars such as Commonwealth and The Griffin offer up craft cocktails made from high-quality ingredients. Soon they will be able to offer up more options with a new distillery planned for Downtown Las Vegas.

In early April, the Las Vegas City Council agreed to sell three acres of land near downtown to a distiller looking to expand its operations. According to the sales agreement, the land was sold for $516,000 to Nevada H & C Distilling Co. The owners of the distillery also co-own The Griffin in Downtown Las Vegas. The plan is to build a 10,000 square foot manufacturing building with an extended 9,000 square foot storage facility.

Currently, the distiller manufactures and processes its Silver Dollar Vodka and Smoke Wagon Bourbon. If you are looking to taste the products that will soon be distilled in the downtown area, you can sample both Silver Dollar and Smoke Wagon at The Griffin.

What Does This Distillery Mean for Downtown Las Vegas

When the new facility opens, Nevada H & C Distilling Co. projects 28 new job opportunities at an hourly wage, ranging from $12 to $25 an hour. Because of the increased space and equipment, the distillery also plans on producing two additional types of whiskey. This will allow for the bars and restaurants in the downtown area to utilize local ingredients and promote Nevada-based products.

While construction of the facility has not started, you can try out their products on your next DTLV pub crawl with Vegas Pub Crawler. For information on how you can book your next pub crawl of Downtown Las Vegas, see our availability.
